PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. (W1N) — The annual Platte County Clean Up returns this Friday and Saturday, giving residents a chance to dispose of non-hazardous waste.
The event will take place at the Platte County Public Works facility from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 20, and Saturday, September 21. The facility is located at 15955 Missouri Route 273 in Tracy.
Entry fees range from $5 for cars, pickups, SUVs, and vans to $25 for vehicles with small trailers. Loads over 12 feet will be charged a minimum of $35. All loads are subject to inspection, and certain items may be denied.
Non-bulky items must be bagged or bundled. Additional fees apply for certain materials, including $2 for passenger tires and $10 for truck or tractor tires. Appliances with compressors, such as refrigerators and air conditioning units, must be empty and will be accepted for a $20 fee.
Hazardous waste, liquid paint, chemicals, and business-related waste will not be accepted.
