FAUCETT, Mo. (W1N) — Mid-Buchanan and West Platte will meet Friday in a Weston 1 News Top 25 matchup in Faucett.
Class 2 No. 7 Mid-Buchanan (3-0, 0-0) remained in the top 10 after a 41-6 victory over Centralia (Kansas) last Friday.
No. 13 West Platte (2-1, 1-0) moved up two spots in the Class 1 rankings following a one-point overtime win on the road against Penney last week.
Mid-Buchanan head coach Aaron Fritz said the team expects every player to give great effort and be good teammates. He highlighted the hard work of the six seniors on the roster. “If we are going to have a chance to compete and possibly win this game, those guys are all going to have to be at the top of their games,” Fritz said.
West Platte head coach Taylor Gallagher said the BlueJays are ready to go after a hard-fought game last week. “We enjoyed the night last Friday, but we came to work Saturday morning and Monday ready to get prepped for another excellent ball club.”
The Dragons have won eight straight games against the BlueJays. West Platte’s last win in the series was in 2015.
