Weston Prepares for Applefest with Traffic and Parking Restrictions

WESTON, Mo. (W1N) — Most traffic and parking restrictions will begin Saturday morning for Weston Applefest. Attendees and residents should be aware of no-parking areas, road closures, and traffic pattern changes. Weston 1 News has provided a list of updates.

No Parking Areas:

• Washington Street: No parking on either side from Bluff Road to Missouri Route 45, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.

• Short Street: No parking on both sides from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.

Welt Street: No parking on both sides from Short Street to Highway 45, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.

• Thomas Street: Closed to traffic from Main Street to Blackhawk Street. All vehicles must be removed by 5 p.m. Friday. Parking resumes after 6 p.m. on Sunday.

• Main Street: No parking from Market Street to Short Street (400 and 500 blocks) from 5 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Sunday.

• City Parking Lots: No overnight parking in city lots, including those on Thomas Street, City Hall, and the gravel lot next to City Hall, starting at 4 p.m. Friday. Unattended vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Traffic Pattern Changes:

• Spring Street: Two-way traffic from Washington Street to Main Street; one-way eastbound from Main Street to Cherry Street, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.

• Cherry Street: One-way north in the 600 block from Spring Street to Walnut Street, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Residents may park on the west side of the block, facing north.

• Welt Street: One-way north from Mulberry Street to Highway 45; two-way from Mulberry Street to Short Street.

Emergency Routes:

• Main Street Alley: One-way northbound traffic in the 400 and 500 blocks between Market Street and Short Street, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. No parking or standing allowed. This area is designated as an emergency route for police, fire, and medical personnel.

The Weston Police Department will be enforcing these changes to ensure a safe 2024 Applefest.
