Weston to Shut Off Water Near Fifth and Blackhawk for Repairs

WESTON, Mo. (W1N) — The City of Weston will shut off water to part of the city Thursday for repairs to a water line.

The outage will begin around 9 a.m. as public works crews work on a water line near the intersection of Blackhawk Street and Fifth Street. Areas primarily east of Washington Street and south of Missouri Route 45 will be affected.

City officials said the outage will impact residents on Gay, Blackhawk, Nebraska, Clay, Meek, Third, Fourth, and Fifth streets, as well as portions of Franklin Drive and Doniphan Court.

Residents on Blackhawk Street raised concerns at the September Board of Aldermen meeting about water running down the street. They said the water had a smell and was causing algae growth.

The city did not provide a timeline for the repairs but said updates will be posted on social media as work progresses.
